No-Go Dates

For event organizers, once money is committed

No-Go DatesWaiting past a fee step-up has a price. Know the date first.

Enter what is signed, the venue's cancellation-fee schedule and the risks you see. Free in your browser: a scored register with every band's next step, the taxonomy rows organizers forget, the insurance categories to ask a broker about, and a go/no-go date before every fee step-up with what waiting would cost. A run writes the register, or the printable emergency plan. Not legal or insurance advice.

    How it works

Every risk is named against a fifteen-row taxonomy drawn from documented event cancellations, including the three organizers forget: the team cannot take money in time, exhibitors leave the format, and the organizers simply decide not to run it. Each row scores likelihood times impact, with impact measured against money you cannot get back - an event's date does not move. Outdoor parts, alcohol, minors, hands-on hardware, overnight runs and single-source dependencies raise impact. Yellow rows need a trigger, orange rows a written contingency, red rows immediate escalation.

Venue cancellation fees step up as the date approaches, so each go/no-go date sits just before a step - and the register is re-scored on each one. Insurance appears as categories to ask a licensed broker about, never as a policy: liability first, cancellation once committed spend grows, and the communicable-disease buy-back recorded either way. The emergency plan is a separate printed document, every scenario written out and none ranked. Nothing here is legal or insurance advice.
